For contractors and pros

Contractor bidding guide

Give a useful price without overpromising.

Atlasio asks for a price with every bid so customers can compare options and choose a pro sooner. Use the request details plus available photos and videos to provide a firm price or your best current range.

A useful bid answers 4 questions:

  1. 01What will it cost?
  2. 02What is included?
  3. 03How long will it take?
  4. 04What could change?

Choose the right bid type

Match your price to what you know now.

A firm price communicates certainty. An estimated range communicates a useful starting point and the boundaries around the unknowns.

Firm price

Use one price when the current scope gives you enough information to price the work confidently.

  • State what labor and materials the price includes.
  • Name any exclusions or customer-supplied items.
  • Use the message to confirm timing and access needs.

Estimated range

Use a range when hidden conditions, material choices, or an on-site finding could change the final price.

  • Set realistic minimum and maximum amounts from the details available now.
  • Explain the assumptions behind the range.
  • Name the conditions that could move the final price within that range.

Before you price the work

Use the evidence in the request.

Photos and videos can answer many practical questions. They do not remove every unknown, which is why Atlasio supports an estimated range.

Scope
Review the service requested, written details, and any stated dimensions or quantities.
Photos and videos
Look for access, visible damage, materials, fixtures, and conditions that affect the work.
Timing and location
Confirm that the requested schedule and service area fit your availability.
Materials
Decide whether your price includes materials or whether the customer will provide them.

Illustrative

Use what the customer shared. Choose a firm price when the scope is clear, or a range when conditions could change it.

Make the range understandable

Explain the assumptions behind your price.

The message is where you turn a number into a clear plan. Keep it direct and specific to the request.

Include:

  • What your price or range includes
  • The assumptions you made from the request
  • What could change the final price
  • Your expected timeline and anything needed before arrival

If the available details are not enough for one confident amount, use Estimated range and say what you will confirm on site.
